Dr Manjunath Ghate is a Professor of Pharmacy at National Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, since 1st August 2022. He obtained his PhD degree from Karnataka University, Dharwad, India. After obtaining a PhD in 2003, He worked for Postdoctoral Research in National Dong Hwa University, Hualien, Taiwan; and Changwon National University, Changwon, South Korea (2003-06).
He worked as a Research Professor at Changwon National University, Changwon, South Korea (2005-06). During his academic career, he has undertaken four projects from the Departments of Science and Technology; SERB- DST, Indo Bulgarian Collaborative project; GUJCOST and DST-FIST.
He has extensive experience of more than 25 years in the field of Pharmaceutical science and research. Before joining the University he was a Dean and a Director, at the Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University Ahmedabad He was a Visiting Professor, at Southwest University,Chongqing, China (May 2018-2020). His primary domains of expertise are the fields of design, synthesis of new molecules for Cancer, Tuberculosis and Diabetes.
Among his academic recognitions are: The prestigious ‘Best MPharm Thesis award’ by Rajanjibhai Foundation twice in 2010 and then again in 2018; and the IPER’s Best Principal of the Year 2018 by the Association of Pharmacy Teachers of India 2018. He has received ISCB Best teacher award in drug discovery from Indian Society for Chemists and Biologists in 2020. He has published 85 articles in Scopus-indexed journals; and presented papers in international conferences held in Germany, South Korea, China, Canada and the United States of America. He has one Indian patent in his credit and organized several national and international conferences, workshops, Seminars and Symposiums.
